Indiana state House Republicans passed a new state congressional map Friday at the behest of President Donald Trump, advancing the legislation to the state Senate, where it is unclear if enough lawmakers will support its final passage.

The map now moves to the state Senate, where it's unclear whether there is enough GOP support for it to pass, despite pressure from Trump.

If enough signatures were collected, the new congressional map will be placed on hold until voters decide its fate at the ballot box next year.

U.S. tree farms cut 14.5 million Christmas trees in 2022, the most recent year USDA data was available. There are more than 300 million Christmas trees growing on the approximately 15,000 farms in the U.S., according to the National Christmas Tree Association, an industry trade group.
